Millonarios and América de Cali were goalless at the time of reporting, with the home side unable to turn its pressure into a goal in a match that carries different stakes for each team.
Different goals on the night
Millonarios need to secure their place in the next phase, while América are looking to take a sporting advantage away from home. That contrast in motivation has shaped a cagey opening, with both sides aware that a single moment could decide the tie.
Home frustration
The Blues have struggled to convert their chances in front of their own supporters, a trend that has kept the scoreboard blank. For a team that must make its home advantage count, the failure to find the net is a lingering concern.
