Olimpia host Recoleta FC at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in a Paraguayan Clausura matchday 18 fixture, due to kick off at 21:15. The leaders are looking to take another step toward the championship against a Recoleta side that has recovered its form in recent rounds.
Olimpia arrive on a high
Olimpia, who top the Clausura table, are coming off a 2-0 win over Cerro Porteño in the Paraguayan classic at La Nueva Olla, a result that has lifted the squad’s confidence.
Recoleta’s turnaround
Recoleta endured a run of ten league matches without a win, but their recent results have shown a clear improvement. They followed that spell with a 3-0 victory over Ameliano on the synthetic pitch at Independiente de Campo Grande.
Late kick-off and head-to-head record
The late start was set because of the tight midweek television schedule for the second league tournament of the season. Olimpia, coached by Pablo “Vitamina” Sánchez, have the better record against Recoleta, coached by Jorge González Frutos, this year. They have beaten them in all three meetings so far in 2026: 1-0 and 3-2 in the Apertura, and 2-1 in the first round of the Clausura.
