Brasileirão returns this weekend, the first league action since the midweek Libertadores and Sudamericana fixtures, and it comes with nine valid matches for Cartola fans. Cruzeiro against Remo on Friday will not count for the fantasy game, but there are still plenty of options for managers willing to look beyond the most popular names.
Here we highlight two goalkeepers, two centre-backs and two full-backs who could surprise and score well in round 32. None of them are among the most heavily selected players.
Deadline and lineups
The market closes this Saturday, the 24th, at 16:29 Brasília time. Managers will be able to see the line-ups of six teams just minutes before the deadline: Mirassol, São Paulo, Internacional, Botafogo, Vitória and Athletico Paranaense.
Goalkeepers
Pedro Morisco (Coritiba, C$ 8.86): In 13 valid matches he has made 59 saves, an average of 4.5 per game. At home he has conceded in every game he has played, yet still averages 4.20 points. If Coritiba keep a clean sheet, he has the potential to score heavily. His opponents, Grêmio, have not won in seven matches and face him at the Couto Pereira.
Lucas Arcanjo (Vitória, C$ 9.50): He has 94 saves in 25 matches, roughly 3.8 interventions per game. As a home keeper he has a strong average of 6.52 and has eight clean sheets in 12 valid home matches, meaning two-thirds of those games ended without him being beaten. He faces Athletico Paranaense at the Barradão.
Full-backs
Igor Formiga (Mirassol, C$ 8.04): The right-back has been directly involved in seven goals in the competition and has 54 tackles in 24 games. His current average is 5.76 points. Mirassol host São Paulo at the Maião.
Rodinei (Santos, C$ 5.83): The right-back provided an important assist in Santos’ win over Fluminense. He is inexpensive, needing only 3.77 points to increase his value. Santos welcome Bahia to the Vila Belmiro.
Centre-backs
Ferraresi (Botafogo, C$ 7.97): He is the defender with the most tackles in the whole Cartola 2026 game, with 51, and averages 4.10 points. His opponents, Internacional, have the third-worst attack in Brasileirão, with 33 goals in 31 matches. The fixture takes place at the Beira-Rio.
Tiago Cóser (Coritiba, C$ 3.49): He has three league goals to his name and is a bargain at this price. He needs only 1.16 points to rise in value, making him a sensible low-cost option against Grêmio at the Couto Pereira.
