Sold-out crowd expected for Guaraní vs Olimpia Clásico in Encarnación

1 min read

The oldest rivalry in Paraguayan football is set to fill Villa Alegre. Tickets for the traditional Guaraní vs Olimpia clash, played in Encarnación, have almost completely sold out, with more than 12,000 fans already holding a seat ahead of Saturday’s 17:00 kickoff.

A final-style showdown for Guaraní

The so-called oldest Clásico, the match with the greatest history in the Paraguayan game, dominates attention in the 19th round of the Clausura 2026. For Guaraní, the fixture is effectively a decider as they push firmly toward their goal of back-to-back titles.

A move to the interior pays off

Guaraní’s board opted to take the fixture away from its usual home, aiming for a large gate and an exceptional setting. The gamble appears to have worked. Despite the financial crisis affecting the country, supporters from the south have responded enthusiastically, and the stadium is expected to be packed.

Tickets nearly gone

According to the organisers, demand has been overwhelming. Preferencia, Plateas and the Gradería Sur are sold out, and only a handful of places remain in the north stand. The match, scheduled for Saturday 7 November, is expected to draw more than 12,500 spectators.
